Summary

Where do I start? I enjoyed most of the activities and it was nice to explore them myself instead of having a boring manual to follow. There are some activities that I will continue to use such as Facebook, SuffolkWave, Craigslist and Wiki's. I (almost) wish I had a need for Googledocs but can't think of anything at the moment I would really use it for. Perhaps in time, my daughter will need it for something and I will be happy to show her how to use it on our home computer. Some activities I will soon forget, but I think it's just a preference thing! Overall it was a good "project" and learning experience.

New Feeds

Well I checked out the suggested search tools--because I never really save a feed until I "stumble" upon something I like. I have found that I prefer Syndic8 the best of these, although I used Bloglines and saved an RSS feed of ESPN sports. I like the way the very last thing that happened with the teams that I follow are listed first and you don't have to skip around. The titles are very clear.

Google Docs

Wow! This thing is great...posted an email to Nick. I think this is fascinating, talk about time-saving. I can't see myself really using this unless I was collaborating on a project. I would imagine googledocs makes school reports REAL easy when done by groups.

Discovering Feeds On our Catalog

This was sooo easy to use, and I have subscribed to many feeds now. I think I am becoming a bit more creative and familiar with the feeds. Our catalog makes them easy to use for sure.

RSS Feed Readers

I never really knew why the orange thingy was displayed. Today I checked into it a little bit and realized how easy it was to was subscribe to a favorite website. I used this today to see how the Yankees were doing under "Sports". So, I'm subscribed to Sports and Web 2.0. I generally save my fav websites to my Favorites. Can anyone tell me what the real advantage of feed readers is? ~~RSS VS. FAVS~~

Wiki's

I'm cautious with Wiki's as pretty much anyone can add info that may or may not be true. If I'm looking for info on movie stars or entertainment, I may use a Wiki with a grain of salt. Although exploring for this 2.0 thing, I see that you can find jobs, training facilities, etc. I just think for me not being a librarian, it might not be much use? If I'm looking for facts I like to go to a main website or even dictionary!!

My Craigslist Pick to buy if I could!!!!

I haven't bought anything off of Craigslist, I'm more of an ebay-er. But my neighbor bought a car and he is very happy with it. I'm not really sure if there's a way to see if the seller is reputable or not. I would have to really delve deeper into this website if I saw something that I wanted to buy.
